Danie & Diane Barnard are the proud owners of Grootrivier Farm, and have lived in the district for the past 35 years. We started farming on 30 hectares and over the years have developed our farm to 1200ha of which 100 ha is utilized for citrus production, 130 ha for crop production with central pivot irrigation. Half of the farm is covered with undulating hills which allows for picturesque walks and a magnificent view over the valley. Diane's cattle herd grazes these hills and if you a lucky a kudu or mountain rhee buck can also be seen. The Limpopo province has an annual rainfall of 550-600mm. In the summer, these dry conditions are conducive for citrus farming, creating a very unique taste.
